Target Audience

This course is particularly important given the requirements for clerks and Independent Appeal Panel members to receive training before they can sit, as well as to receive regular updates.


Course Content

  • Are your officers, Panel Members, aware of the latest schools admissions Code and admissions appeals Code?
  • Do they understand the process of schools admissions both for primary and secondary? The Admissions Code?
  • Do they understand practice and procedure in front of the IAP?
  • Infant class size appeals?
  • How to avoid legal challenges?
  • When were your Panel Members last trained?
  • Be sure you have got your procedures right and avoid the costs

Competencies

This course will contribute to the following aspects of the SRA’s Statement of solicitor competence:
