A workshop delivered by two experienced practitioners with a programme featuring good practice advice and guidance, case studies which highlight successful strategies, and group exercises which explore the challenges of delivering the scrutiny role in a complex governance and accountability framework.
The workshop will consider the legislative context and different ways of delivering the OSC function and role in a variety of settings and structures, from traditional to new and hybrid structures. It will also consider the complexities and challenges faced by officers who are delivering a number of roles supporting committees.

This workshop is for you if you’re:

  • New to supporting overview and scrutiny
  • Want to explore how to best support scrutiny members
  • Involved in committee, democratic work and want to broaden your role
