Employment law is a dynamic and constantly evolving area. With voluminous case law and frequent statutory changes, it presents unique challenges to those working in local government. Local authority employment lawyers, practitioners, and HR professionals regularly deal with complex and interesting issues surrounding the regulation of the employment relationship. From flexible working to equality, whistleblowing to TUPE, pensions to social media, local government employment lawyers face a constant challenge of navigating their way through the maze of employment law in order to achieve the objectives of their authority.

New for 2018, LLG Legal Training’s Employment Law Seminar, in association with leading employment law chambers 7BR, will provide a practical and wide-ranging day’s training on the key employment law issues currently facing local authority employment law professionals. The morning will consist of a series of updating sessions on the highly topical areas of holiday pay, whistleblowing, managing social media and equal pay. The afternoon will provide more detailed, in-depth training on TUPE, disability discrimination and pensions. Each session will be delivered by a highly experienced employment law barrister from 7BR, and will include an explanation of the most recent developments, as well as an examination of the practical implications of those changes for the day to day practice of local authority employment lawyers.

This seminar is a must attend for employment lawyers, HR professionals, and employment relations specialists working in the public sector.
